The 16th CNS International Summer School (CNSSS17) will be held at Center for Nuclear Study (CNS), the University of Tokyo, Wako Campus from August 23 to August 29, 2017. This Summer School aims at providing basic knowledge and perspectives of nuclear physics for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. It consists of lectures by leading scientists in the field of both experimental and theoretical nuclear physics. Each lecture will start with an introductory talk from the fundamental point of view and end with up-to-date topics in the relevant field. We will invite several lectures including, Prof. Umesh Garg (Univ. of Notre Dam, USA, high spin physics) Prof. Munetake Ichimura (RIKEN, nuclear reaction theory) Prof. Robert Roth (TU Darmstadt, nuclear structure theory ) Prof. Tomotsugu Wakasa (Kyushu, giant resonances and related topics) Prof. Bhanu Pratap Das (Tokyo Tech, relativistic effects in super heavy elements) Dr. Naofumi Tsunoda (CNS, nuclear structure theory) Dr. Aiko Takamine (RIKEN) During summer school, short presentations by students and post-docs and poster session are scheduled. We start the CNSSS Young scientist award this year. A few winners will be selected from both sessions. Furthermore, the best of them will win the ANPhA/AAAPS-DNP award for the young scientist, which has also started from this year. We're looking forward to seeing you at CNSSS17!
